Greek Prime Minister to meet with Turkish President in New York

Greece’s Prime Minister and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will hold a bilateral meeting today on the sidelines of the 73rd UN General Assembly in New York.

The meeting is scheduled for 11:30 (18:30 Greek time). As reported by government sources, Alexis Tsipras will talk with the Turkish President, mainly on bilateral relations, the situation in the Aegean, the Cyprus problem, the EU-Turkey agreement, and Euro-Turkish relations, as well as developments in the wider region.

The Greek Prime Minister will then take part in the lunch presented by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to the heads of delegations at 13:15 (20:15 Greece time).

The Prime Minister's activity starts today at 08:00 (15:00 Greek time), when the UN Secretary-General welcomes the Heads of State and Government, so that at 9:00 (16:00 Greek time) commences the General Discussion of the 73rd General Assembly of the United Nations on "Global Leadership and Shared Responsibilities for Peaceful, Fair and Sustainable Societies".
