Greek PM discussed Cyprus problem and Aegean with Erdogan

Greece’s Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras had a one-hour meeting yesterday with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on the sidelines of the 73rd General Assembly meeting of the United Nations in New York.

Tsipras and Erdogan, who were accompanied by their respective foreign ministers, discussed the ongoing tensions concerning the Aegean and the unresolved Cyprus problem.

According to Greek government sources, both leaders also discussed the relationship between the EU and Turkey, specifically the EU-Turkey agreement over migration and the country’s European membership ambitions.
