Three islands were forced to suspend schooling as of Wednesday due to dangerous weather conditions.

The Municipality of Mykonos ordered the temporary closure of schools on the island as of Wednesday due to the extraordinary weather conditions, with fierce winds of up to force 10 on the beaufort scale, to ensure student safety and the avoidance of accidents.

A similar decision was taken by the mayor of Andros, according to which the day care centers and schools of Primary and Secondary Education of the municipality will remain closed for the next two days, 26 and 27 September 2018.

The decision was taken after the issuance of a calendar of exceptional weather phenomena and following the extraordinary meeting by the Civil Protection authority of the Municipality of Andros, which took place on the 24 September 2018.

Also, the Mayor of Tinos, having regard for the relevant regulatory provisions, decided to suspend all day schooling, as of Wednesday, September 26, 2018, for all school units on the island due to exceptional weather conditions.
