Council of State rejects calls to ban law extending cohabitation laws to gay couples

Greece’s Council of State ruled as constitutional, extending the cohabitation agreement to gay couples and rejected calls from some church leaders to ban the law.

Furthermore the court said that the law is in line with European law and that the private life of people, including their sexual preference, is a basic part of their character and must be respected in a democratic society.
