Greek Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura announced Greece is on track to welcome over 32 million tourists in 2018, which will be an all-time record high.
Speaking at the "Blue Flags" annual meeting organised by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature, the municipality of Zakynthos and the island's hoteliers, Ms Kountoura said, "Revenue has double-digit growth, about 17 percent compared with 2017, so tourism is the economic power of our country, and we have to protect it and work hard," she added.
This will be the third consecutive year with a record number of tourists, thanks to an increased number of international flights to Greece and the country now being viewed as an all-year-round destination.
