On the occasion marking the Greek National "OXI Day" Holiday on Sunday 28th of October 2018, the Acropolis Museum in Athens invites visitors to enjoy the permanent collections with masterpieces from the archaic and classical period, free of charge.
The temporary exhibition from the forbidden city: imperial apartments of Qianlong’ will also be open to the public. Visitors will enjoy a rare exhibition on China's Emperor Qianlong (1711-1799) with a first-time presentation to the public of remarkable artifacts from the Palaces of the Forbidden City representing over 100 years of Chinese culture of the 18th century.
Gallery talks about the temporary exhibition will be held by Museum Archaeologist-Hosts in Greek (at 11 a.m., 12 noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.) and in English (at 10 a.m.).
On this day the Museum exhibition areas will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with free entry for all visitors. The restaurant on the second floor will operate during the same hours.
