Zakynthos island was woken up today at 04:59 am by another brief earthquake measuring 5.3 degrees on the Richter scale.
This follows the major earthquake on Friday measuring 6.4 degrees on Richter that thankfully only caused material damage.
According to an announcement by the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens, the new earthquake in the Ionian Sea was recorded in an area of 48 kilometers west-southwest of Zakynthos and 294 kilometres west of Athens.
