Greek suburb makes IPC President honorary citizen

The Municipality of Nea Smyrni in Athens honoured yesterday the President of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Andrew Parsons at a ceremony at the city's digital museum.

Parsons is in Greece for an event at the Cultural Center of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation on Sunday, "Para Sports Unite". The event is held by HOC and the Agitos Foundation, which helps with the social integration of migrants with disabilities.

The municipality has signed a collaboration agreement with the Hellenic Paralympic Committee (HOC) and recently said it would turn over to HOC part of the revenues from a race held recently.

Following the ceremony the IPC President met with the Deputy Minister for Sports Giorgos Vassiliadis.
