2019 expected to be Greece’s best year in tourism

With over 30 million international visitors in 2017 and 32 million expected by the end of 2018, tourism in Greece will continue to rise and "2019 will be Greece's year," according to DER Touristik, the largest travel company in German-speaking countries.

DER Touristik's head of Europe Rene Herzog said that his company's presence in Greece remains stable with 14 family hotel packages in several areas, as well as 43 adult-only units. This means that 15 percent of the 282 adult-only accommodation offered by the company in total are located in Greece.

The reason why 2019 will be Greece's year, according to Herzog is that it offers the best value for money as a summer destination.

"The climate is stable and positive," he also added.

Apart from Greece, other popular destinations for this summer are Tunisia, Egypt, South Africa and Namibia, but also the Maldives and Thailand.
