Konstantinos Katsifas' family finally lay him to rest at his village

Konstantinos Katsifas, the 35-year-old Greek man shot by Albanian police on October 28, was finally laid to rest on Thursday afternoon at his village of Vouliarates (Bularat).

Present at the service were his family and friends, as well as hundreds of people who arrived from Greece on buses and cars to bid a last farewell to the young man.

Hundreds of people held the Greek flag in their arms and the Greek flag was also placed on top of Katsifas’ coffin, which was carried to the church as bells rang in his home village.

Mourners also sang the Greek national anthem and shouted “Athanatos” (immortal).

The family has still not been given final answers regarding Katsifas’ death but said they are glad that they were finally allowed to see their son for the last time and were able to lay him to rest.
