PM Tsipras makes assessment visit to fire-stricken Mati 2

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, visited fire-stricken Mati to meet with the residents and local authorities in an effort to assess the progress and implementation of the various government measures announced by the government shortly after the tragedy.

The Greek PM accompanied by accompanied by Transport and Infrastructure Minister Christos Spirzis, held a two-hour meeting with representatives of the local co-ordinating authorities and discussed in detail all the problems facing the community since the fires.

The Prime Minister informed the local Coordination Committees that following the initiatives to repair the damage, the government tabled an amendment yesterday in Parliament in order to determine building restrictions and restoration of affected buildings, which will allow for repairs or few new buildings, without hampering the planning and development process in the area.
