Greek police authorities arrested a 23 year old Iraqi national, for allegedly being involved in human trafficking, after 15 undocumented Iraqi nationals were discovered in his van.

According to police sources the suspect was driving on Egnatia motorway towards Thessaloniki when police stopped the vehicle for a check and found the migrants hidden in the van.

The migrants said they had entered the country from the Greek-Turkish borders at Evros, and paid 2,000 euros each for their transport to Greece.

It is noted that five out of the fifteen illegal immigrants were minors.
