Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama expresses optimism on Greece-Albania bilaterial relations calling them ''historical and traditional''.

Rama made the comments to Greek news agency ANA on the sidelines of the conference "news agencies vs fake news" organised by the Albanian ATA news agency in Tirana.

The Albanian Prime Minister of course clarified that relations with a neighbour, are by nature not always perfect. He even compared it to a football match which sometimes may seem like a war.

However, he underlined that both countries are willing to improve this relation on a daily basis and that is what they are doing.

Rama said that some unfortunate things may sometimes occur which they need to be dealt with. He stressed, however, that the relations between the two countries are good adding that most important of all is the fact that there is no hostility between the peoples.

The Greeks love Albania and the Albanians love Greece, he said. All the rest is just politics, he explained.

Asked if he is planning to meet with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, he replied that they will meet soon either in Tirana or in Athens. The Albanian Prime Minister also said that a very intensive dialogue is underway in order to resolve many pending issues with courage and determination.

"I think we are very close to solving all these and that would be great," Rama underlined.
