Over 15,000 visitors, of all ages, watched the Christmas World of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) come alive, in what was a spectacular celebration for all over the weekend.
Despite the very cold weather, people of all ages gathered to experience the interactive luminous installations at the Stavros Niarchos Park, a fabulous ice rink at the Canal, 3 tall Christmas trees at the Agora and another 80 decorated trees, which has created a wonderful Christmas spirit at the popular spot in Athens.
The open-air celebrations were announced by director and actor Giorgos Nanouris, who marked the beginning of the Christmas events.
The magnificent park, which has become one of Athens’ most visited by both locals and tourists, has been transformed into a magical winter landscape, where people of all ages can enjoy the festive season.
The decorations will be displayed until the new year, giving Athenians a chance to enjoy the celebrations for weeks to come.
