Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos’ film ‘The Favourite’ receives 5 Golden Globe nominations

Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos award-winning film 'The Favourite', has been nominated five times in four categories for the upcoming Golden Globes 2019.

The nominations were announced on Thursday and the film is a contender for the awards of best comedy/musical, best actress in a musical/comedy, best-supporting actress (two nominations) and best screenplay.

In the best film category it is up against the political comedy "Vice" on the career of former U.S. vice-president Dick Cheney, which led the pack with six nominations in total, the musical "A Star is Born" and the film "Green Book".
The winners will be announced at the Golden Globes award ceremony in Beverley Hills on January 6.
