Greek tennis sensation Stefanos Tsitsipas, currently ranked 15th in the world’s men's tennis, is seeded number 1 at the Sydney International Tennis tournament and will be making his debut on the court today at Homebush, up against unseeded Argentinian, Guido Andreozzi.
Sydneysiders get ready to cheer on the young Greek talent who has been gaining fans worldwide and making waves on the tennis scene, with tennis legend Roger Federer telling media he was “very impressed by what I saw from Stefanos.”
After playing against Tsitipas at the Hopman Cup, Federer said, "I'm very happy, that always the goal to get to the finals so on top of it I am playing well, it was an exciting match, first time playing against Stefanos. I think we both played pretty well without too many mistakes. I was very impressed by what I saw from Stefanos.”
Stefanos has also taken some time to visit Sydney's iconic Harbour Bridge and Opera House, posting some photos on his social media pages.
