Melbourne’s Stalactites restaurant to name a Souvlaki after tennis sensation Tsitsipas

Not only has Greece’s tennis sensation Stefanos Tsitsipas made it into the fourth round of the Australian Open, but the 20-year-old born in Athens is now also going to have a souvlaki named after him at Melbourne’s popular Greek eatery Stalactites.

"Stefanos is a massive sensation and if he does well Friday, we'd love to name a souvlaki after him," Stalactites managing director Nicole Papasavas told Australian Associated Press.

"Everyone likes their souvlaki a little bit different, so we'd ask him what he likes and tailor it to his tastes."

The restaurant has only done this once before - naming a slow-cooked lamb souvlaki after Greek Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis during his great run to the 2006 Australian Open final.
