Another five suspicious envelopes from India, exactly like the previous thirty-two envelopes sent to Greek universities and other institutions earlier this year, were intercepted by Greek authorities on Friday.

Four envelopes were found at the post office branches in Piraeus, Sparti, Kalamata and Tripoli. The fifth envelope arrived at the Thessaly Technological Educational Institute in Larisa.

The suspicious envelopes were picked up by the fire brigade and were taken to the State Chemical Laboratory for analysis.

This brings it to a total of 37 suspicious envelopes sent from India to Greece.

Tests that have been conducted so far reveal the presence of an irritating industrial substance that has soaked into the envelopes, which is not dangerous for human health.

Greece's counter-terrorism squad is continuing their investigations and efforts to locate the sender.
