Greece’s 20-year-old tennis gun Stefanos Tsitsipas is set to face former world number 1 Roger Federer tonight in the fourth round of the Australian Open, with the winner advancing through to the Quarterfinals.
Federer said he is expecting a clash of styles against Tsitsipas, who pushed the Swiss to two tiebreaks at the Hopman Cup earlier this month.
"I'm happy I played against him at the Hopman Cup. I think he played really well there. I actually did too. I thought it was really high-quality tennis," Federer told reporters.
"This is obviously a different type of match, it is the best of five, it's the fourth round of a slam, where we know now how we feel on this court.
"I like how he mixes up his game and also comes to the net - so will I. I think we will see some athletic attacking tennis being played."
At 20, the Greek star is the youngest player in the world's top 20 and with his strong Greek fan base in Melbourne to support him along, this is expected to be a great game.
Come on Stefanos, best of luck!
