Greece's Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, met with the members of the Independent Committee for Wildfires Management on Thursday, in order to receive their report on how to prevent catastrophic fires in Greece.
On his personal account, Tsipras tweeted "I met with the members of the Committee in order to receive their final report. I want to express my great appreciation to the scientific research group of Dr. Johann Georg Goldammer and to the Greek scientists and researchers who worked with him."
Tsipras also thanked Greek scientists Xanthopoulos, Eftyhidis, Mallinis, Mitsopoulos and Dimitrakopoulos who "worked hard and selflessly in order to contribute to the national effort to protect the country from a danger that climate change has heightened more."
