Greece’s tennis gun Stefanos Tsitsipas officially enters Top Ten in ATP Rankings

By 5 years ago

Stefanos Tsitsipas has become the first Greek player to ever break into the top 10, as the newest ATP rankings were released today!

Tsitsipas first entered the rankings on November 4, 2013, when he was ranked 2030 at age 15. He then cracked the top 1000 on August 10, 2015, and the top 500 on April 25, 2016. Later in 2016, he cracked the top 200 on October 31. Almost one year later, Tsitsipas broke into the top 100 on October 23, 2017, after his first full year on the professional tour.

2018 was a massive year for the Greek, as he began the season ranked 91 in the world. By May, he was ranked 44. He continued to rise and ultimately finished the year ranked 15.

Now, just two months into 2019, the 20-year-old Greek has already improved his ranking from 15 to 10. He has now become the youngest player in the top 10. Without having many points to defend over the next few months, the Greek is expected to rise even more, should he continue playing this well.
