Over 300 asylum seekers removed from Lesvos migrant centre

Greek authorities have reported some 330 asylum seekers were removed from the Moria Reception and Identification Centre on the island of Lesvos on Wednesday night aboard a commercial ship, to the port of Piraeus.

The asylum seekers are expected to be advanced to refugee and asylum seekers’ reception facilities in Skaramangas in the Piraeus area and Grevena in Northern Greece.

The total number of refugees and asylum seekers at the Moria reception facility on the island of Lesvos therefore comes down to 4,890 people.
