Greece and Kuwait signed several agreements on Friday during the 1st Greece-Kuwait Joint Interministerial Committee (JIC), which was held in Athens during 13-15 March 2019.

The committee was co-chaired by Greece's Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Sia Anagnostopoulou and Kuwait's Minister of Finance, Dr. Nayef F. Al-Hajraf.

Agreements signed included a collaboration package regarding the mass media, radio and television production and three memoranda of understanding on boosting exports between Greece and Kuwait, industrial production collaboration between the two countries and finally certification of goods and products.

These agreements are expected to further develop relations between the two countries, in new areas of economic and commercial activity, according to the Greek Foreign Ministry.

"A milestone for our bilateral relations", said Anagnostopoulou, "with great practical and symbolic significance." Anagnostopoulou described Greece's willingness and readiness to continue on this path to further strengthen and deepen the cooperation of the two countries.

She also said that a bilateral agreement for the advance and mutual protection of investments signed back in 2014 between Greece and Kuwait will come into effect at the end of March 2019.
