The Memorial Trisagion Service for the late Archbishop Stylianos took place this afternoon at the Cathedral Church of the Annunciation of our Lady in Redfern, Sydney.
Archbishop Stylianos, Australia's most senior Greek Orthodox leader, died on Monday evening at the age of 83, after a long battle with cancer.
The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, along with Bishops, Priests, officials, family, friends and hundreds of people from the public came together this afternoon for a touching Trisagion Service, in memory of the late Archbishop, who served the Greek Orthodox Church of the Antipodes for 44 years and also founded the Greek Orthodox education system in Australia.
Greek Orthodox Priests from parishes all around New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and Western Australia have arrived in Sydney to pay their final respects to the late Archbishop Stylianos, whose funeral service will be held tomorrow morning, 11:30 am, at the Cathedral Church of the Annunciation of our Lady.
