A team of Greek volunteer divers removed approximately 1,500 kilos of garbage from Naoussa Harbour on Paros island.
The divers from the non-profit organisation “We Dive We Clean” set out on a mission to remove as much waste as they could and managed to take away numerous items including tyres, pans, car batteries, computers, and a Greek flag.
This is the 149th voluntary underwater cleaning project the team has undertaken and the group estimates they have recovered 51,547 kg of solid waste in the last six years.
“For our present action, we would like to thank the Naoussa Paros Group, the Paros Municipality, Blue Star Ferries, Senia Hotel on Paros island, Sommaripa Consolato Paros, Sante Cocktail Bar, Tsachpinis - Ouzeri ton Nautikon, the Fishing Association, AGIOS NIKOLAOS Marina Vernicos & Farantos gifts,” said the team from “We Dive We Clean.”
