Greek FM to make official visits to Oman, Qatar and Bahrain

Greece's Foreign Affairs Ministry announced on Monday that Minister Giorgos Katrougalos is scheduled to visit the Gulf nations of Oman, Qatar and Bahrain on April 30.

According to the ministry, the Middle East crisis, developments in the Gulf region and the eastern Mediterranean, will all be at the epicentre of Katrougalos' talks during his successive visits.

Discussions will also focus on Greek diplomatic initiatives and their positive impact on regional stability.

Furthermore, the ministerial statement envisages a deepened economic cooperation among Greece and Omar-Qatar-Bahrain, with an eye on increasing Greek exports and attracting investments in the sectors of infrastructure, energy, pharmaceuticals and tourism.

On April 30, the Greek Foreign Minister will travel to Oman's capital Muscat, where he will meet his counterpart, Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, as well as Tourism Minister, Ahmed bin Nasser Al Mahrizi, and Commerce and Industry Minister, Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy.

On May 1, Katrougalos will travel to Qatar's capital Doha, where he is expected to meet, inter alia, with his counterpart Muhammad Bin Abdurrahman al-Thani, and with the Head of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, as well as with the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari.

On May 2, Katrougalos will visit Bahrain's capital Manama to hold talks with a series of Bahraini officials, focusing on regional issues and the economy.
