Greek striker Kostas Mitroglou celebrates championship win by holding up Greek flag in Turkish stadium

Greek striker Kostas Mitroglou, who plays for Turkish football club Galatasaray, on loan from French side Marseille, celebrated winning the Turkish Championship by holding a Greek flag high at Constantinople’s Türk Telekom Stadium.

After Galatasaray beat rivals Basaksehir 2-1, Mirotroglou grabbed the Greek flag and held it with pride during the celebrations that took place after the game, posing for photos on his own, with his team and with his wife and son, without once putting the Greek flag down.

 

The 31-year-old who plays for Greece’s national team and is nicknamed “Mitrogoal” and “Pistolero” was applauded by the thousands of fans and the striker also took to his social media pages posting photos of the celebrations on the field.
