Webometrics, the international ranking system for the world's universities, in its recent report listed six Greek physics professors from the National Technical University of Athens (known as the Polytechnic) among the 200 top researchers on the list of 672 most influential researchers worldwide.
The list includes Professor Georgios Tsipolitis who was placed 45th, leading the 11 Greeks researchers included on the Most Highly Cited Researcher, h>100 list. They are followed by Emmanouil Dris (73rd), Theodoros Alexopoulos (74th), Stavros Maltezos (87th), Evangelos Gazis (121st) and Constantinos Kousouris (191th).
The University's governing council congratulated all the researchers, who it said adds to the university's prestige and provides a valuable addition to the Greek scientific community with their research work.
