Greek Australian family leave heartbreaking messages for their murdered daughter

The Greek Australian mother and grandmother of murdered Melbourne woman Courtney (KonstantinaHerron have left touching messages after making a heartbreaking visit to the spot where the 25-year-old was tragically killed.

“I love you my sweetheart Courtney. You will always be in my heart. You are now in a better place with your Pappou,” was the message from Courtney’s Yiayia, who broke down and was heard screaming as she could not cope with the grief and loss of her granddaughter.

While Courtney’s devastated mum wrote, “To our beloved Courky, Forever in our hearts. Find internal peace with Pappou - You will be forever safe with him. Love mum, Chris, Sian and LuLu.”

The young woman's body was found in the park on Saturday, May 25, at about 9.30am by people who were walking their dog.

As Courtney’s mum approached the log where her daughter’s life was violently taken away, the grieving woman screamed in despair in Greek, trying to come to terms with the brutal murder of her child.

Reports claim Ms Herron had a substance abuse issue and was homeless at the time of her murder, however, her family announced they were in regular contact with her up until two weeks ago and had been staying with friends.

Henry Hammond, 27, fronted the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Monday charged with Ms Herron's murder, after being arrested on Sunday and charged overnight with one count of murder, police said.

Hammond appeared in court with no shoes on and a smile on his face.

The court heard prosecutors will go over CCTV footage, and forensic analysis of Ms Herron’s body will be carried out.
