Greece’s Rural development and Foods Ministry announced on Friday that it had received and approved more than 6,330 applications for its organic farming programme.
According to a ministry breakdown, 12,164 applications were submitted under Action 11.2.1 for existing organic farmers, of which 4,033 were approved with a total budget of 155.3 million euros distributed between regions.
For Action 11.1.1 (new organic farmers), a total of 25,662 applications were submitted and 2,297 were approved, with a total budget of 49.9 million euros.
The programme’s total budget amounts to 205.2 million euros and the number of applications submitted came to 37,826.
