On the first anniversary marking the Prespes Agreement, which was signed on June 17, 2018, by Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and his Skopje counterpart Zoran Zaev, Greeks have taken to social media highlighting they are still outraged by the decision and posted “We will never forget the betrayal.”

Thousands of comments on social media shows a huge number of Greeks worldwide view Alexis Tsipras as a traitor who sold out Macedonia.

The hashtags #den xehname (we will never forget) and #Prespes were the top trending words on Twitter over the last 24 hours.

As Skopje continues to violate the deal, a huge number of Greeks around the world have made it clear they will never accept the agreement, with many saying the decision that was made last year without a referendum will work against Tsipras in the upcoming national elections, which are taking place in Greece on July 7.
