Tennis gun Tsitsipas through to Quarter Final in London

Greece’s young tennis gun Stefanos Tsitsipas is through to the quarter finals of The Fever-Tree Championships on his debut at The Queen’s Club in London.

The top-seeded and world number 6 ranked player broke back when Jeremy Chardy served for the match at 5-4 and made his way into the top 8, winning  4-6, 7-6(0), 7-6(4) in over two hours and 38 minutes.

In what was a nail biter, Tsitsipas saw last year’s semi-finalist Chardy comeback from 2-4 down in the decider to lead 5-4, but he showed tremendous mental strength to take back the match.

It was a huge 24 hours for the Greek athlete who earlier in the day completed a 6-3, 7-5 first-round win over Kyle Edmund, carried over from Wednesday evening due to rain.

20-year-old Tsitsipas now goes on to face eighth-seeded Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime in the quarterfinal game later today.

Best of luck Stefanos!
