Two young cyclists die and 4 injured after being hit by a car in Ptelomaida

A 62-year-old who was driving on the wrong side of the road in Ptelomaida, hit 6 cyclists, killing two young men and injuring another four who remain in hospital.

The car hit the cyclists on a road which connects the city of Ptolemaida with the town of Adassa in Macedonia after the lady is reported to have lost her bearings and ended up on the wrong side of the road.

The group of cyclists were returning home from their morning ride in the city when two of them were tragically killed and another four injured.

The driver who was taken to Ptolemaida Hospital in a state of shock and was later discharged is now expected to face court next week.

According to doctors the four injured cyclists are in stable condition and are not suffering from any life-threatening injuries.

The two men who lost their lives were professional cyclists who took part in many road racing competitions and events worldwide and won many awards over the years.
