Greek PM congratulates Antetokounmpo on being named NBA’s most valuable player

Greece's Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has congratulated Giannis Antetokounmpo on the prestigious award being titled NBA’s most valuable player and praised him for “bringing great joy to an entire nation.”

The PM sent his congratulations via twitter, stating that this moment is "a great page in the history of Greek basketball.”

“His people, the people who believed in him and supported him, are also MVPs, though. All the children who were born and grew up in this country and who dreamed of a better future regardless of their background, are also MVPs,” he continued.
