Summer has arrived in Greece, a country that is famous for its beautiful beaches, amazing food, and laid-back lifestyle, and as soon as June hits, celebrities from all around the world arrive here to enjoy a summer getaway.
The likes of Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Alessandra Ambrosio, who are regular visitors to Greece, have already had their Greek Summer 2019 hit, as they visited Skiathos, Messinia, and Santorini.
There are plenty of other celebrities from actors, athletes, models, rock stars and socialites who have chosen Greece as their holiday destination for the warmer months and here are a few more we have spotted!
Newly retired NBA basketballer Dwyane Wade and his wife Hollywood actress Gabrielle Union were recently island hopping in Greece. Showcasing photos and videos on their socials of their 2019 #WadeWorldTour in the Aegean Sea, we see the happy couple posing with picturesque backdrops of Hydra and Spetses. The former Miami Heats player seemed to be enjoying life off the court and retreating with some rest and relaxation by the private pool at their beachfront villa. Gabrielle shared a series of jaw-dropping photos of herself in a bikini that showed off the stunning 46-year-old's incredible physique. During their stay, they often live streamed and one day admitted they'd slept the day away but later headed to the affluent island's centre, taking in the stunning sights surrounding them. Documenting their lavish trip on their Instagram accounts had their famous friends and followers feeling all sorts of FOMO.
Mohamed Hadid, father of models Gigi and Bella Hadid was dining with dear friends at Island Athens Riviera. Mohamed said he was in Athens for "work and a little fun" and whilst relaxing by the pool at the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel, he described Athens as "beautiful". One has to wonder if the tycoon property developer is involved in any of the five projects set to change the face of the Athenian coastline? Mohamed has strong ties with Greece, as at 22 years of age he opened a club in Rhodes with two young men he met on the plane to the island, which became one of the most famous clubs at Rhodes. Hadid's impressive property portfolio includes a history of Ritz Carlton Hotels, numerous mega mansion estate homes and part of the team behind soon-to-be the world's (record breaking) largest building the Skyline project in Egypt; a state of the art resort style apartment community complex. If the mogul is involved in any of the proposed developments in Athens, it will undoubtedly be to his signature opulent standards and to the highest levels of design extravagance.
Singer, actress and musical Broadway star Katharine McPhee along with her fiancé record producer and composer extraordinaire David Foster, are enjoying time together in Greece with close friend, fashion designer and co-founder of Guess? Paul Marciano. The famous pals are cruising the Mediterranean Sea on Marciano’s legendary supersize yacht, stopping at Mykonos where the fashion designer excitedly said it was his first time back since 1994. Another famous friend Mohamed Hadid (see above) chimed in commenting he had been with Marciano on that trip 25 years ago! The loved up soon-to-be married couple McPhee and Foster were spotted at Nammos beach club affectionately canoodling whilst taking a dip in the water. The bride-to-be shared some fun photos taken by her fiancé from their yacht that ported in Mykonos and it is said that they are due to wed any day now. Katharine will be David’s fifth wife, he was previously married to Mohamed Hadid’s ex-wife, Yolanda Hadid, mother of his children Gigi, Bella, and Anwar. Another of his ex-wives was Linda Thompson, mother of reality TV stars Brody and Brandon Jenner who she had with her first husband Bruce Jenner now known as Caitlyn Jenner. David Foster has famously produced endless hits for Celine Dion, Michael Buble, Toni Braxton, Andrea Bocelli, and the late Michael Jackson to name a few, that earned him many Grammy Award wins and nominations. He’s on his third season of Asia’s Got Talent as a judge, while still fitting in concerts globally with his David Foster–The Hitman Tour, so it’s no wonder he’s taking a much-needed break before his upcoming wedding.
American actress, dancer and America’s Got Talent judge Julianne Hough and her husband hockey player Brooks Laich, recently returned from a trip to Greece. Both sharing a photo in front of the Parthenon at the Acropolis, the NHL hockey player Brooks revealed, “I wanted to visit this place my entire life”. He wrote a detailed heartfelt caption beneath his Instagram photo about the temple, its history and what it symbolizes. The couple also spent some time in Santorini during their week long stay in Greece, sharing photos of the island’s breathtaking background. The former Dancing With The Stars pro has been open about their struggle to conceive and along with her husband have wanted to share their journey and be transparent about the process. They are currently going through IVF treatment and it's not known if they visited Greece for that reason, as Athens is becoming internationally recognised as a hub for IVF treatments with a high success rate, with the likes of Greek Australian doctor Kostas Pantos. Regardless of their reason for choosing Greece as their week-long destination, the down-to-earth couple said they were “blown away by everything we are seeing in this beautiful country” and hope to be back soon.
Brazilian beauty and former Victoria’s Secret model Izabel Goulart has returned to Mykonos with her German soccer player fiancé Kevin Trapp, almost a year later, at the spot he popped the question to his long-term partner. The two looked very much in love exhibiting lots of PDA during their romantic getaway. The showstopping stunner looked sensational in her itsy-bitsy tiny yellow bikini that accentuated and flaunted her incredibly toned physique. The inseparable couple enjoyed lots of poolside time, soaking up the sun where they both adoringly gazed at one another; not that their romance needs any heating up. The model once shared details about their sizzling sex life saying, “Kevin and I make a lot of love, four or five times a week,” and went on to say that “when his team has won we don’t get a wink of sleep”. The model rates Mykonos as one of her favourite destinations and chooses the island every year to spend her vacations, and now she gets to enjoy it with her fiancé. The genetically blessed duo with their sun-kissed tans and washboard abs set hearts on fire for onlookers as they were spotted spending the day at the beach.
