Thousands of fans turned up to greet NBA’s MVP of the Year, Giannis Antetokounmpo at the Sepolia district of Athens, for the AntetokounBros 3X3 tournament.

The Greek Freak, along with his brothers Thanasis, Kostas, Francis, and Alex, together with their mother Veronica hosted the 2019 “AntetokounBros” event that took place on Saturday in the neighbourhood where the family grew up.

“It’s amazing. Who would have imagined that this would happen? I get chills with what is going on today,” Giannis said.

“No matter how much you achieve, the point is not to forget where you started. I will always start at Sepolia. Like it happened last season, so it happened this year.”

“My family is proud and happy that I was named MVP," added Giannis.

The Milwaukee Bucks power forward also announced that he and his brother, Thanasis, will be starting a program for underprivileged children in Greece.

The Academy reportedly will be established in collaboration with media organisation Europhoops and the Onassis Foundation, and it will be called "AntetokounBros Academy."
