Apostlos Papastamos wins gold for Greece in European Junior Swimming Championship

18-year-old Apostolos Papastamos from Chania won the gold medal in the 200 metre individual medley at the 2019 European Junior Swimming Championship, hosted in Kazan, Russia overnight.

Dipping under the 2:00 threshold for the first time in his young career, the young swimmer was 2:01.79 in the semi-final but gave it his all in the final, giving Greece its first gold of these Championships with a winning time of 1:59.93.
