Dolce & Gabbana's Alta Moda Fashion Show took place in the southern Sicilian town of Agrigento over the weekend and featured outfits inspired by Ancient Greece.
The Alta Moda took place in the Temple of Concordia, an ancient Greek temple in the Valle dei Templi in Agrigento.
According to sources, it took two years to convince the city’s mayor, Stefano Gabbana to give permission for the UNESCO World Heritage site to be turned into a fashion runway.
Models walked down the runway in fashion statements that payed homage to the Italian island’s Ancient Greek roots.
For the men, white robes and golden sandals with golden archery equipment stood out on the runway, while female models wore Greek Goddess inspired dresses paired with metal accessories and beaded gold leather sandals that made a statement. Dolce & Gabbana also named each dress after a Greek muse.
