Greece’s National Meteorological Service (EMY), has issued a warning of strong rain, winds and possibly hail that will affect central and northern Greece over the weekend.
The areas that will be affected include the north Ionian Sea, Epirus and the west Central Greece. The warning also stated that after midnight the worst weather will be in Macedonia, especially central and eastern Macedonia, the northern parts of Thessaly, the north Sporades islands and the islands in the north Aegean.
The region of Halkidiki that was hit by a severe storm on Wednesday which left seven dead and more than a hundred injured, will also be affected by the storm however it is not expected to be as severe as Wednesday.
The weather is expected to subside on Sunday afternoon.
