New Foreign Affairs Minister off to Brussels to talk Turkey with Council

Whilst Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotaks is set to chair an immigration policy meeting today in Athens with senior EU officials, his Foreign Affairs Minister is on his way for his first EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting.

According to a Ministry announcement, Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Dendias is to travel to Brussels to attend the EU Foreign Affairs Council which is scheduled to discuss Turkey’s illegal actions in the Eastern Mediterranean and the adoption of measures against Turkey.

The EU Foreign Affairs Council will also talk about developments relating to Iran’s nuclear deal, or the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), as well as the latest developments in Sudan, Ethiopia, Iraq and Venuezuela, and foreign policy aspects of migration.

Dendias is scheduled to dine with the Foreign Finister of Moldova following other series of meetings with his counterparts on the sidelines of the Council, the Foreign Ministry said.
