Greek professional basketball player Thanasis Antetokounmpo, was born on July 18, 1992 in Athens, Greece.
Today he will be celebrating his birthday and the signing of a two-year contract at Milwaukee Bucks, where he will be joining his brother and reigning NBA MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo.
General Manager of the Milwaukee Bucks, Jon Horst stated that “Thanasis is a young player with great experience at the top level overseas.”
“He brings toughness, athleticism, character and a high IQ. We are thrilled to have him join the Bucks,” he continued.
Thanasis spent the last two seasons with Panathinaikos, leading the team to two straight league titles.
In 2018-19, he averaged 4.9 points and 2.5 rebounds in 55 games (13 starts) in both the Greek Basket League and EuroLeague action with Panathinaikos. He was also named the Greek Basket League Most Spectacular Player for the 2017-18 season.
