Update- Firefighters have controlled the wildfire that broke out in Rafina, East of Athens early Tuesday afternoon.
The wildfire erupted at a pine cluster on the junction of Marathonos Avenue and Rododafnis Street.
Civil Protection Secretary General Nikos Chardalias was on the scene coordinating the efforts to put out the blaze.
According to reports, there are no injuries or damages to properties.
Forty-seven firefighter, twenty vehicles, two ground teams, two aircrafts and three helicopters contained the fire.
Police are currently diverting traffic at specific spots along Marathonos Avenue.
The fire broke out on the one year anniversary of the deadly wildfires that swept through the seaside town of Mati, which tragically claimed the lives of 102 people.
