Beaches around Greece this weekend are expected to be packed with locals and tourists, as temperatures are set to reach as high as 40 degrees Celsius.
Greece’s National Meteorological Service and the National Observatory of Athens are predicting that the northerly winds which have kept temperatures in Greece at a steady level over the last few days, will gradually subside beginning on Saturday morning.
On Saturday, Athens and other mainland regions in Greece are expected to rise up to 37 degrees Celsius and 38 degrees on Sunday.
On Sunday, meteorologists predict 40 degrees Celsius around Thessaly and the city of Larissa.
The weather, which was slightly unpredictable at the beginning of the month has now turned into a dream for international visitors who are already making their way around Greece’s mainland and islands, enjoying their Greek summer holiday for 2019.
