The US State Department has informed the Greek government of its ‘strong position’ about the Iranian tanker that is heading towards Greece, after it was released from detention off Gibraltar.
In a statement by a State Department official, any attempts to assist ‘Adrian Darya 1’ could be considered as “providing material support to a US-designated foreign terrorist organisation, which has immigration and potential criminal consequences."
According to ship tracking service MarineTraffic, the supertanker is expected to arrive in Kalamata on August 25th.
