Greek coast guard rescued over 100 illegal immigrants overnight

Greek coast guard authorities and Frontex rescued a total of 107 illegal immigrants in the Aegean on Thursday morning during two separate incidents.

A Greek coast guard patrol vessel rescued 56 illegals in the region of Korakas, Lesvos and transferred them to the port of Skala.

The second rescue operation took place early Thursday when a Frontex vessel located a dinghy carrying 51 illegal immigrants off the island of Kos. The Frontex vessel assisted by a Greek coast guard boat rescued and transferred the migrants and refugees to the port of Kos.
