Two Divers Found Dead in Underwater Cave off the island of Karpathos

Authorities have confirmed that two foreign nationals have been found dead in an underwater cave off the island of Karpathos, in southeast Greece.

The two men believed to be aged 65 and 30, went missing on Saturday while exploring an underwater cave with a depth of 45 metres.

The third diver that had also gone diving in the cave with them, turned back due to low air supply and broke surface, without seeing the other two men. He then alerted the coast guard and a search was launched.

Four divers from the Underwater Missions Team found the bodies on Sunday afternoon.

No further details have been released about the victims or the kind of equipment they used.
