An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale, jolted the Greek island of Rhodes yesterday afternoon.
According to data from the Euro Mediterranean Seismic Centre, the quake hit around 3.pm. and was originally thought to have a magnitude of 5.3.
The epicenter of the shake was in the sea between the southwest coast of Rhodes and Karpathos island
Tourists tweeted about the natural disaster, with some saying their 'entire hotel shook' after it hit. Duncan H, from Surrey (South East England), tweeted: 'Have officially felt my first real earthquake at Atrium Prestige Hotel in Rhodes. Apparently a 5.3. Shook for 30 seconds. Time for a beer.'
No injuries or significant damage has been reported.
