Greece’s Elisavet Teltsidou won the gold medal at the Judo International Grand Prix in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. It was her second victory this year and the third time she stood up on the international podium as a gold medalist.
Teltsidou reached the semifinals with two wins. The first was against Pogacnick from Slovenia and she also defeated Kuglan from Australia, gaining a ticket to the final, where she was too strong for Jagger from the Netherlands.
The 23-year-old Greek Judo champion won gold in Antalya, Turkey in April and last year she had her first World Cup victory in Aktau at the Asian Open.
Teltsidou who has won two medals at the European Junior Championships and European U23 Championships has become one of the most impressive female athletes in the international judo scene and is looking very strong in her efforts to win gold at the Tokyo Olympics.
