Russian and Greek officials on Saturday paid tribute to fallen soldiers during a ceremony as part of the 17th Hellenic-Russian Week at Corfu and the islands of the Ionian Sea, which also saw the Admiral Makarov frigate of the Russian Navy's Black Sea fleet dock at Corfu port.
Russian Ambassador to Greece, Andrey Maslov laid a wreath at the Ioannis Kapodistrias Monument, at the Saint Theodore Ushakov monument-patron saint of the Russian Navy, and at the monument of the Fallen Greeks and Russians.
Scheduled today, Monday, was a roundtable discussion with a delegation from the Republic of Mordovia and the authorities of the island of Corfu on Russian-Greek cooperation in tourism and economy.
According to the Russian Embassy in Greece, the islanders will be able to visit Admiral Makarov on the following dates and times:
- Monday September 30 between 15:00-17:00
- Tuesday October 1 between 10:00-12:00 noon.
