Greece’s Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday announced that finally Turkey’s provocative behaviour towards Greece and Cyprus, will now be on the agenda of the upcoming European Council meeting of EU leaders.
Mitsotakis made the statement at the Presidential Palace of Heliopolis after Tuesday’s trilateral Cyprus-Egypt-Greece summit in the Cairo suburb.
The Greek PM confirmed that the move came from his government who he said pushed to put Turkey on the table.
Mitsotakis pointed out that he will also discuss the issue with European Council President Donald Tusk during a scheduled meeting in Athens at 3pm today, Wednesday, before Tusk addresses the Athens Democracy Forum.
The Prime Minister also noted his confidence that Europe will respond and rise to the occasion.
The upcoming European Council meeting of EU leaders will be held on October 17-18, 2019.
